Overview
The Beach Ford Pro Elite Commercial Service Center is a 56,000-square-foot fleet maintenance facility developed to expand commercial and municipal vehicle service capabilities throughout Hampton Roads. Purpose-built for high-volume fleet operations, the facility provides 28 workstations and specialized service bays capable of accommodating vehicles ranging from light commercial vans and trucks to medium- and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. Thompson Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, Construction Administration, and Commissioning services, integrating advanced ventilation and vehicle exhaust systems, EV charging infrastructure, and specialized electrical and mechanical systems supporting lifts and service equipment. The facility expands Beach Ford’s ability to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, DOT inspection, and fleet support services while helping commercial and municipal customers minimize vehicle downtime and maintain operational readiness.
Challenges
- Designing a high-capacity maintenance facility capable of accommodating a wide range of vehicles from light commercial to heavy duty.
- Incorporating specialized infrastructure such as lifts, EV charging stations, and advanced exhaust and HVAC systems for safety and efficiency.
