Overview
Chesterfield County Fire Station No. 25 is a 15,000-square-foot public safety facility developed to strengthen fire and emergency medical response within the rapidly growing Magnolia Green community and surrounding areas of western Chesterfield County. The three-bay station supports 24/7 operations and accommodates an engine, ambulance, water tanker, brush truck, and other emergency response resources while providing modern living, fitness, administrative, and support spaces for station personnel. Thompson Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, Construction Administration, and Commissioning services for the project, incorporating high-efficiency building systems and specialized ventilation designed to support firefighter health, safety, and continuous operations. Designed with flexibility for future expansion, the facility provides reliable infrastructure for one of the County’s largest response areas while significantly improving emergency response times for the surrounding community.
Challenges
- Designing highly reliable MEP and fire protection systems capable of supporting continuous emergency response operations and around-the-clock occupancy.
- Coordinating building systems to serve a variety of functional spaces, including apparatus bays, living quarters, administrative offices, training areas, and support facilities.
- Delivering efficient and maintainable infrastructure that supports Chesterfield County’s growing service demands while minimizing long-term operational costs.

- Established reliable, flexible infrastructure for a 69-square-mile response area, supporting 24/7 operations, specialized emergency apparatus, and future expansion as the surrounding community continues to grow.
