Jorvas Rodgers serves as Principal and Director of Thompson Consulting Engineers’ Richmond Office, where he leads the firm’s operations, client relations, and business development efforts throughout the Central Virginia region. With more than 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering and HVAC system design, Jorvas brings extensive technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a client-focused approach to every project and professional relationship. He holds an Associate of Science in Engineering from Reynolds Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University. Jorvas is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C) and an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Since joining Thompson Consulting Engineers in 2014, Jorvas has played an integral role in the growth and success of the Richmond office while managing projects across a diverse range of sectors and facility types. His technical knowledge, collaborative mindset, and commitment to excellence have made him a trusted advisor to clients and a valued leader within the firm.

In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Jorvas serves as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager, working closely with owners, architects, and project teams to guide projects from initial planning through construction completion. His ability to foster communication, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and proactively address project challenges helps ensure successful outcomes and long-term client satisfaction.

As Director of the Richmond Office, Jorvas oversees project coordination, team development, operational leadership, and client engagement. His approachable leadership style, attention to detail, and commitment to mentorship help cultivate a collaborative environment where employees can grow professionally while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Jorvas also plays an active role in supporting the firm’s drafting and engineering teams through standards development, technical training, and mentorship of new engineers and interns. In addition, he contributes to marketing and business development initiatives, participates in project interviews and client outreach efforts, and helps uphold the firm’s standards of care to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables.
