Overview
Thoroughgood Elementary School is a new, environmentally conscious educational facility developed to replace the existing school while continuing to serve the Virginia Beach community. The 91,913-square-foot school provides modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, and flexible instructional areas designed to support contemporary educational programs. Thompson Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design, Construction Administration, and Commissioning services. Integrated building systems and sustainable design strategies were developed to enhance energy efficiency, occupant comfort, operational reliability, and long-term performance.
