Overview
Chesterfield County Fire Station No. 5 is a modern replacement facility constructed to serve the Midlothian community and surrounding service area. Designed to replace the County's aging station originally built in the 1960s, the new 15,000-square-foot facility enhances emergency response capabilities while providing firefighters and EMS personnel with updated operational, training, and living spaces. The station includes apparatus bays, administrative offices, living quarters, fitness and training areas, and support spaces designed to meet the needs of today's emergency responders. Thompson Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the project. Building systems were carefully designed to support the rigorous demands of 24-hour emergency operations while improving energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and long-term reliability. The new station strengthens Chesterfield County's emergency response infrastructure while providing a resilient and sustainable facility that will serve the community for decades to come.
