Overview
The Virginia Beach 4th Precinct Police Station and Incident Command Center was developed to replace an aging precinct facility and provide the Virginia Beach Police Department with a modern, resilient public safety complex capable of supporting both daily operations and emergency response activities. The approximately 33,000-square-foot facility consolidated police operations, administrative functions, evidence processing, interview spaces, training areas, and emergency management capabilities into a secure, purpose-built environment designed to serve the community for decades to come. Thompson Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the project. Building systems were designed to support the unique operational requirements of a law enforcement facility, including secure spaces, critical communications infrastructure, and an Incident Command Center capable of supporting emergency operations during major events and disasters. The completed facility enhanced operational efficiency, improved resiliency, and provided Virginia Beach police personnel with a modern environment that supports public safety and community engagement.
